On Saturday, November 16, 2019 I shared with my local church, the Good Neighbor Movement (GNM) in Greensboro, NC, God’s calling on my life to serve in ministry. After 15 years in higher education, community and youth development, music, arts, and activism, I am transitioning into full-time, missional ministry in partnership with GNM. GNM is an inclusive, multi-ethnic, people of color led network of missional communities committed to joining God in our neighborhoods. My work with GNM is most in alignment with who I am, who I’m becoming everyday, and is responsive to God’s purpose for my life. I am full of love and gratitude as I say “YES” to this journey.
As a Black, queer, woman of faith, my mission in ministry is to invite others into the love of Christ, just as they are. I will offer my God-given gifts of music and the arts, teaching, leadership, administration and facilitation to co-create experiences with the Divine. To take this bold step into ministry leadership with GNM will take raising $50,000 for salary support. GNM engages an underserved and marginalized population so fundraising is part of our DNA. I invite your prayers and encouragement! Also, would you prayerfully consider partnering with me through giving financially at one of the amounts below?
